a bundaberg afl club built on Community
The Waves Eagles are built on community, participation and club pride. We provide a welcoming football environment where players of all ages and experience levels can develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy Australian Football.
The club values inclusion, respect and connection. We aim to create a place where players, families, volunteers, supporters and sponsors feel part of something bigger than game day. Strong community engagement is an important part of who we are, and we continue to build programs and opportunities that support people across Bundaberg and surrounding regions.
Football Pathways
The Waves AFL Club supports player development from Auskick and junior football through to youth teams, senior men’s, reserves and senior women’s football.
A key focus of the club is the ongoing development of junior programs, giving young footballers the chance to learn the game in a safe, encouraging and team-focused environment. As players grow, they have opportunities to progress through the club’s youth and senior pathways while continuing to build their skills, confidence and connection to the game.
The club follows Australian Football pathways and resources supported by AFL Queensland.
Coaches, Volunteers and Club Development
The Waves AFL Club is committed to continuous improvement across all areas of the club. This includes supporting the development of coaches, volunteers and club leaders so players receive quality guidance both on and off the field.
Coaches and volunteers play an important role in creating a strong club culture. Their work helps players develop not only football skills, but also teamwork, resilience, respect and confidence.
Families, Supporters and Sponsors
The strength of The Waves Eagles comes from the people who support the club. Families, volunteers, sponsors and local supporters all play an important role in keeping community football strong in Bundaberg.
Whether helping on game day, supporting junior teams, sponsoring the club or attending club events, every contribution helps The Waves AFL Club continue to grow and provide opportunities for local players.
